Flowers and soil form shifting bands across the horizon, while the camera remains still, allowing the land to exist as a living composition.
This grounded perspective is paired with aerial images. From a steady, suspended position, the fields resolve into patterns. Lines, grids, and subtle irregularities emerge, revealing both the human shaping of the land and its organic movement. Together, these viewpoints create a dialogue between immersion and distance. Figures in a Landscape is een contemplatieve korte film, gesitueerd in de Nederlandse bollenstreek. Het landschap wordt benaderd in schilderachtige kaders, waarin kleuren zich ontvouwen in gelaagde patronen. Bloemen en aarde vormen verschuivende banen langs de horizon, terwijl de camera stil blijft en het landschap laat bestaan als een levende compositie.
Dit perspectief op ooghoogte wordt gecombineerd met verstilde opnamen vanuit de lucht. Vanuit een stabiel, zwevend standpunt ontvouwen de velden zich als ritmes en structuren. Lijnen en subtiele onregelmatigheden tekenen zich af en tonen zowel de menselijke ordening van het land als de organische beweging ervan.
