Director of Photography (DOP) and filmmaker based in Amsterdam, working across commercial and corporate films, short documentaries and independent film projects.

What I do

I handle the entire filmmaking process, from concept development to final edit. Depending on the scale and nature of the project, I collaborate with a trusted network of filmmakers and creatives. Every project requires its own approach, but the goal remains the same: to create films that resonate both visually and in substance.

Visual style

My work is rooted in visual storytelling, where cinematography and composition serve the narrative. In a world of fast edits, I favour meaningful frames. No trends, just timeless images and stories. Years of experience as a documentary and portrait photographer have helped shape my visual language as a filmmaker.

Personal work

Alongside commissioned projects, I develop observational short films under the name Silver Sonnet Films.

I studied portrait and documentary photography at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam and graduated cum laude in 2008.

Wat ik doe

Ik verzorg het volledige filmproces, van conceptontwikkeling tot eindmontage. Afhankelijk van de omvang en aard van een project werk ik samen met een vertrouwd netwerk van filmmakers en andere creatieve professionals. Elk project vraagt om een eigen aanpak, maar het doel blijft hetzelfde: films maken die zowel visueel als inhoudelijk resoneren.

Visuele stijl

Mijn werk is geworteld in visuele storytelling, waarbij cinematografie en compositie altijd in dienst staan van het verhaal. In een wereld van snelle montage kies ik voor betekenisvolle beelden. Geen trends, maar tijdloze beelden en verhalen. Jarenlange ervaring als documentaire- en portretfotograaf heeft mijn visuele taal als filmmaker gevormd.

Persoonlijk werk

Naast opdrachten ontwikkel ik observerende korte films onder de naam Silver Sonnet Films.

Achtergrond

Ik volgde de opleiding portret- en documentairefotografie aan de Fotoacademie in Amsterdam, waar ik in 2008 cum laude afstudeerde.
